District Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, G. Rajagopal, stated that a Special Lok Adalat will be held on November 15, and those wishing to compromise their cases should utilize this opportunity to get relief from court cases.
On Monday, the District Principal Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority held a meeting with representatives from the Police, Bankers, Chit Fund companies, and other officials regarding the organization of the Special Lok Adalat at the Nyaya Seva Sadan in the Khammam District Court.
On this occasion, District Legal Services Authority Chairman G. Rajagopal said that a National Lok Adalat is organized every three months on behalf of the Legal Services Authority. He mentioned that the Lok Adalat serves as a platform for compromising criminal and other cases.
He stated that various cases like accident claims, matrimonial disputes, and cheque bounce cases can be compromised in the Lok Adalat. He informed that in accident cases settled through the Lok Adalat, compensation is provided in a single instance. He also mentioned that cases resolved in the Lok Adalat cannot be appealed to higher courts again.
He urged that measures should be taken to provide extensive publicity about the Lok Adalat to the rural public. He requested that the public utilize the Special Lok Adalat, which will be held in all courts in the district on November 15, to compromise their cases.
First Additional District Judge Uma, judges, District Bar Association President T. Venkateswara Rao, nominated members/advocates Srinivas Rao and Sandhyarani, Police, Excise, and Bank officials, advocates, representatives of Chit Fund and Insurance companies, and others participated in the meeting.
