At a seminar held at the Swarna Bharati Kalyana Mandapam, presided over by District President Medarametla Subbaiah, the Telangana State Government Retired Employees Association addressed the mounting grievances of retirees. State Vice President Ravella Sitaramaiah and State Secretary Paidipalli Sharath Babu attended as chief guests.
Key Concerns and Demands
The leaders expressed deep frustration with both Central and State governments, stating that although employees and pensioners are the backbone of the administration, their issues are being ignored.
* Failure of Representation: They noted that the government is delaying the implementation of recommendations for the 250,000 retired employees in Telangana.
* Pending Benefits: A primary demand was the immediate release of financial benefits for those who retired after March 2024.
* Warning of Protests: The leaders warned that if these benefits are not released immediately, they will launch a direct protest movement.
JAC Stance: “Patience is Wearing Thin”
JAC Secretary General Eluri Srinivasa Rao remarked that while the current state government appears more “democratically inclined” than the previous administration, the delay in resolving financial issues is endless. He stated that despite multiple discussions with the Chief Minister, no concrete action has been taken, and the JAC will soon announce an official action plan.
Legal and Ethical Obligations
District General Secretary Talluri Venu criticized the government’s policies, stating they are turning retired life into a tragedy. He highlighted the gravity of the situation, noting that many retirees have passed away while waiting for their benefits. He urged the government to:
* Respect the orders of the State High Court.
* Uphold Constitutional values.
* Avoid further delays, warning that continued negligence would lead to “serious consequences.”

* The New Diary and Calendars for the association were officially unveiled.
