An inspiring celebration of the Indira Mahila Shakti scheme, launched by the Congress government to provide interest-free loans to DWCRA women, was grandly held at the Mandalapalli Tribal Boys Junior College in Dummugudem Mandal, Aswaraopeta constituency.
Thousands of DWCRA women from Aswaraopeta, Dummugudem, Mulakalapalli, Chandrugonda, and Annapureddypalli mandals took part in the event. To showcase their talents, various cultural performances, games, and rangoli (muggu) competitions were organized, highlighting the artistic skills of rural women. Prizes were awarded to the winners of these contests.
As chief guests, Telangana Revenue, Housing, and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and local MLA Jare Adinarayana participated in the event and distributed cheques worth approximately ₹2.5 crore to the DWCRA women.
This program is expected to boost the confidence of rural women and contribute significantly to the improvement of their social and economic conditions. Senior officials, mandal-level officers, and key Congress party leaders were also present at the event.
