Srija directed district officials to submit proposals for the installation of solar power panels on government office buildings in the prescribed format.On Monday, at the Collectorate meeting hall, Additional Collector Dr. P. Srija, along with Additional Collector P. Srinivas Reddy, reviewed with officials the arrangements for installing solar panels on government offices.Speaking on the occasion, Dr. P. Srija said that the government had decided to install solar panels on government office buildings. She instructed that in every government office building in the district, wherever possible, steps should be taken to set up solar panels.She further instructed officials to submit details such as electricity bills of the offices, rooftop area, building age, USC number, and category (LT/HT) in the prescribed proforma.It was mentioned that in Khammam district there are over 4,700 government connections, and according to estimates by the electricity department, there is potential for generating 30 megawatts of solar power. Officials were told to submit photographs of their office building, rooftop, GPS coordinates, and electrical panels.Departments such as Education (schools), Welfare (hostels), Tourism (resorts), Forest, Endowments, Panchayat Raj, Corporation, and others must also submit details regarding the installation of solar power panels, she added.
District Revenue Officer A. Padmashree, ZP CEO Deeksha Raina, District Rural Development Officer Sanyasayya, and several other district officials participated in the meeting.
