The All India OBC Students Association (AIOBCSA) organised an interactive meeting with Dr. Anil JaiHind Yadav, Chairperson of the OBC Department, Indian National Congress, and Shri Jitendra Baghel, AICC Secretary, at the Conference Hall of Lake View Guest House, University of Hyderabad.
The interaction witnessed the participation of several OBC association presidents, research scholars, and students from the University of Hyderabad and other institutions. Participants raised a range of important issues concerning the welfare, representation, and empowerment of Backward Classes (BCs).
During the meeting, students and scholars highlighted key demands including 42% reservations for BCs in employment and education, implementation of a BC Sub-Plan, and ensuring adequate appointments of BCs in nominated positions in government and public institutions. Various community-specific issues concerning educational opportunities, representation, and social justice were also discussed.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Anil JaiHind Yadav listened to the concerns raised by students and assured that these issues would be taken up with the Congress high command and appropriate steps would be pursued to strengthen the cause of social justice and empowerment of Backward Classes.
The session was chaired by Gowd Kiran Kumar, National President of AIOBCSA, and Alla Ramakrishna, who emphasised the importance of sustained dialogue between political leadership and student organisations on issues of social justice, representation, and policy reforms.
Among those who participated in the interaction were Dr. Kethoori Venkatesh, Rajesh, Palapu Surender, Shiva Mudiraj, Shiva Yadav, Praveen, Suryavardhan, Mekapothula Narendra Goud, Bongu Prasad, and several other student leaders, researchers, and representatives of OBC organisations.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to continue collective efforts for advancing the rights and aspirations of the Backward Classes in education, employment, and governance.
