Grand Mahatma Gandhi Sustainable Knowledge Conference Held at Gandhi Bhavan. Display of 1500 one-foot Gandhi statues, 156 charkhas, and Gandhi attire drew attention.Speaking at the Mahatma Gandhi Sustainable Knowledge Conference organised at Gandhi Bhavan under the leadership of Gandhi Jnana Pratishtan and the Gandhi Global Family on the occasion of its Golden Jubilee Celebrations, Telangana State Convener of the Gandhi Research Foundation, Dr. Parikipandla Ashok, described Gandhiji as the “Pinnacle of Humanity” and a “Ray of Light in the darkness overshadowing the future of mankind.”
Dr. Ashok stated that from India’s freedom struggle to the recent Telangana movement, people have always succeeded through non-violence and the path of truth. Across the world, various people’s movements and peace struggles take inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi. He emphasized the need for every individual to strive for spreading Gandhian values, truth, and non-violence among the youth.He noted that if one can develop a spiritual and moral perspective that sees the other person as a manifestation of the soul and truth, 90% of human relationship problems would be resolved. Gandhi’s path teaches that repentance can cleanse sins and flaws, just as water washes away mud. Gandhiji practiced seeking forgiveness in writing whenever he felt he had done wrong. His adherence to truth dissolved anger, selfishness, and hatred. The path of non-violence is filled with love and compassion and devoid of enmity and vengeance.He further observed that because India’s freedom struggle was conducted through non-violence, even the British, who were considered adversaries, revered Gandhiji as a great soul. Gandhiji was a true internationalist who valued the well-being of the world over just his country. His vision of universal humanism, if embraced, could erase border conflicts, racial divisions, and religious strife. The world could transform into a peaceful forest—a realm of global harmony.In the same event held at Prakasham Hall, Gandhi Bhavan, under the leadership of founder Gunna Rajender Reddy, attendees were captivated by the display of 1500 one-foot Gandhi statues, 156 charkhas, and 156 participants dressed in Gandhian attire.Gandhian thinkers were honoured with the Gandhi Charkha Awards, while winners of essay writing competitions were presented with appreciation certificates and prizes.The program saw active participation from representatives across all 33 districts of Telangana, including numerous students and Gandhian followers.
