Eetarambharatam hyderabad August 23 :Journalists paid tribute to the first generation journalist Shoaibullah Khan on Ring Road under the auspices of Rachakonda Press Club and LB Nagar Working Journalist Press Club. Pradesh Congress leader Uppala Srinivas Gupta, who was the chief guest, said that every journalist should take Shoaibullah Khan as a guide and work according to his ideals. Press Club President Ashok Goud congratulated Potlapalli and General Secretary Sanem Srinivas Goud for organizing this program. Ashok Goud Potlapalli said that Shoaibullah Khan, who was known as an early journalist, came to Hyderabad from Mahabubabad and chose journalism as a profession with the spirit of national movement. Shoaib, who had a strong desire to do something for the society and the oppressed innocent people, initially worked as a deputy editor in the Urdu newspaper ‘Tej’. He severely criticized the tyrannical Nizam government and his subordinates, the atrocities and anarchy of the Razakars, using the news as a weapon. In an attempt to expose the rulers on public issues and create awareness among the people, ‘Tej’ newspaper was finally banned. After Tej newspaper, he joined the Urdu daily ‘Rayyat’ published under the auspices of Madhumula Narsingarao and exposed the atrocities and exploitation of the ruling classes. After some time, the Nizam government closed the ‘Rayyat’ newspaper. He also closed it. He said that his wife and mother sold their jewellery and started an Urdu newspaper called ‘Imroz’, which means ‘today’. The first issue of the daily ‘Imroz’ was published on 1 November 1947, and he wrote editorials arguing that the Nizam’s state should be merged with the Indian Union. He stated in his editorials that merger was necessary in the interests of the wider country. In an article titled ‘Day Government – Night Government’ dated 29 January 1948, he severely criticized the Ittehadul Muslimeen organization, asking why it was not banned. He said that the soldiers of Qasim Razvi, who were the turtles, killed him on August 22, 1948. Journalists Parvatal Nambi, Ramakrishna Goud Madagoni, Lakshminarayana Goud Boyapalli, Battu Lakshminarayana and others participated in this program and paid tribute to Shoaib Amar Rahe with slogans.
