Khammam: Minister for Agriculture, Marketing, Cooperation, Textiles, and Handlooms, Tummala Nageswara Rao, stated that the Bhoodan lands in Velugumatla are being developed into a model colony with all modern amenities to provide a dignified living environment for the poor.
On Saturday, the Minister conducted a field-level inspection of the ongoing development works along with District Collector Anudeep Durishetty, Police Commissioner Sunil Dutt, Municipal Commissioner Abhishek Agastya, and Additional Collector P. Srinivasa Reddy. Using a map, the Collector explained that the installation of electricity poles and streetlights is complete, and drinking water pipelines have been connected to every household from the water tank. He further detailed plans for internal roads and improved transport facilities.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao emphasized that the government is committed to prioritizing the basic needs of the people, including comprehensive access to water, electricity, and roads.
* Permanent Solutions: He remarked that while the poor faced significant hardships due to a lack of infrastructure over the last decade, the Indiramma Government is now providing permanent solutions.
* Model Colony: The Minister asserted that Velugumatla will be transformed into an exemplary residential area featuring integrated drainage systems, sanitation, schools, community halls, and parks.
* Strict Deadlines: He ordered that internal roads and drains must be completed on a war footing. Specifically, he directed officials to finish drainage works within a month to prevent waterlogging during the upcoming rainy season.
* Housing Support: Under the supervision of the Housing Department, the Minister urged beneficiaries to expedite their house construction.
The Minister expressed satisfaction with the progress so far and instructed officials to work in coordination to ensure all pending works are completed within the stipulated deadlines.
