Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha Attends Educational and Spiritual Programs in Khammam.The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, visited Conroy School in Velugumatla, located within the Khammam Municipal Corporation limits, on Wednesday. Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed with floral bouquets by District Collector Diwakar TS Commissioner of Police Sunil Dutt, Khammam Municipal Corporation Commissioner Abhishek Agastya, and School Chairman Nama Tarun, among others.
Following the initial welcome, Vedic priests accorded him a traditional reception with Poornakumbham to the accompaniment of special band music brought in from Kerala. Lt. Governor Sinha performed special prayers at the Monolithic Ganesha statue installed on the school premises.
During his visit, the Lt. Governor inaugurated the FM Podcast Studio set up in the school. He also unveiled the school newsletter and watched cultural performances presented by the students. As part of the Investiture Ceremony (conferring leadership responsibilities upon students), he presented badges to the student leaders. Furthermore, he felicitated National Best Teacher Award recipients Nagabattina Bhaskar and Pesara Prabhakar Reddy with shawls and mementos.
Speaking on the occasion, Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha commended the “No Bag Day” initiative being conducted every Saturday. He stated that he was deeply impressed by the students’ discipline and talent. He lauded School Chairman Nama Tarun for establishing and running an educational institution at a young age on a non-profit basis in memory of his grandmother, Nama Varamma. He encouraged the students to set high goals, conquer great heights in life, recognize the importance of education, and grow up to become useful citizens for society. Later, he planted a neem sapling on the school grounds.
Afterward, he visited the newly constructed Shiva Temple in NSP Colony and participated in the Abhishekam ceremony. From there, he visited the Smruthi Vanam (Memorial Park) of Mutthaiah and Varamma—parents of former MP Nama Nageswara Rao—in Khammam Rural Mandal, paying homage to their statues. He also toured the photo gallery established in their memory, where Nama’s brother, Seethaiah, briefed the Lt. Governor on their life journey and contributions to society.
The event was attended by School Principal Madhu, staff members, parents, well-wishers of the Nama family, doctors, lawyers, Chamber of Commerce members, and prominent citizens of the city.
