Quality Nutritious Food Must Be Provided to Students: District Collector Diwakar TS

Khammam, Konijerla, July 02: Madhushree Nalubola.

District Collector eats mid-day meals alongside students at Pallipadu Government High School in Konijerla Mandal.

District Collector Diwakar TS stated that quality and nutritious food must be provided to students studying in government educational institutions, emphasizing that children can focus on their studies only if they are healthy.

As part of his visit to the Wyra constituency on Thursday, the District Collector visited the Government High School and Government Primary School in Pallipadu village of Konijerla Mandal. He thoroughly inspected the cleanliness of the school premises, classrooms, toilets, drinking water facilities, and kitchen management, and gave several directives to the concerned officials.

Afterward, Collector Diwakar TS had the mid-day meal along with the students. He personally checked the quality of the food being served to the children. He interacted with the students to get their feedback, asking whether the food was tasty, whether eggs, vegetable biryani, dal, and sambar were being served according to the menu, and if the food was being prepared hygienically.

Speaking on the occasion, District Collector Diwakar TS made it clear that the mid-day meals provided in government schools are crucial for students’ health, and there should be absolutely no compromise on quality. He ordered officials to strictly implement the menu prescribed by the government, use fine rice (Sanna Biyyam) for the mid-day meals, and take steps to set up kitchen gardens in every school to ensure the use of fresh vegetables.

The Collector also suggested holding regular meetings with parents to raise awareness about the government education system in order to increase student enrollment and attendance rates in government schools. He added that public confidence in government education would further increase by providing a clean environment, quality food, and better infrastructure in schools.

Konijerla Tahsildar Aruna, Wyra Municipal Commissioner Ramachander Rao, MEO Chava Srinivasa Rao, Headmasters, teachers, and officials from the concerned departments participated in this program.
