District Collector Divakara TS has called upon everyone to consider environmental protection as every citizen’s responsibility and to work actively toward nature conservation.
On Monday, at the Collectorate meeting hall, District Collector Divakara TS—alongside DFO Anuj Agarwal and Additional Collector P. Srinivas Reddy—unveiled posters regarding the Puligundala Eco-Tourism Project, Environmental Protection, and the Prevention of Plastic Usage
Speaking on the occasion, District Collector Divakara TS stated that an action plan has been prepared to conduct various environmental conservation programs across the district from June 1 to June 12, as part of the 99-day Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika (People’s Governance Progress Plan) initiative.
He emphasized that protecting the environment is the duty of every citizen, noting that a better living environment can only be passed down to future generations if we preserve nature today. He urged everyone to reduce plastic usage as much as possible and cooperate fully in eradicating it entirely. He also advised citizens to use water sparingly without letting it go to waste.
Future generations will have a better life only if we protect trees. If we neglect environmental protection today, future generations will not forgive us, the Collector said.He further noted that extensive plantation drives should be taken up to increase greenery in the district, with special attention given to nurturing and protecting the planted saplings.The poster launch event was attended by staff from the District Forest Office, district officials, and others.
