Political parties including BRS, Janasena, and CITU have demanded that the government immediately allocate housing plots to journalists. They expressed dismay that journalists—who work tirelessly as a bridge between the public and the government to resolve issues and implement welfare schemes—have been forced to take to the streets and undertake a *padayatra* (foot march) to address their own grievances. The march, organized to demand housing plots for journalists, reached the Kalluru Mandal headquarters in the Sathupalli constituency on Thursday. TWJF District President Khadir and General Secretary Srinivas Reddy paid tribute by garlanding the Ambedkar statue at the Mandal headquarters. Leaders from political parties and civil society organizations accorded a grand welcome to the marching journalists, honoring them with shawls and garlands. The march continued from the Mandal headquarters to the Tahsildar’s office. A representation was submitted to the official at the Tahsildar’s office, urging the government and public representatives to fulfill their promises regarding the allocation of housing plots to all journalists. At the meeting held subsequently, leaders from political parties and civil society organizations criticized the previous BRS government for failing to fulfill its promise to provide housing plots to journalists. They also condemned the current Congress government for publicly promising housing plots but delaying action for three years without actually implementing the pledge. They demanded the immediate allocation of housing plots, warning that if the government failed to respond, they would intensify the agitation alongside journalists to secure the plots. Congress Mandal President Potru Arjun Rao assured the gathering that he would bring the issue to the attention of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Information Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and MLA Matta Ragamayi, and would strive to ensure the government fulfills its promise. BRS leaders Katta Ajay Babu, Lakkineni Raghu, and Mekala Krishna; Janasena Party’s Nageswara Rao; Congress leaders Shaik Usman and Ubbana Rambabu; CITU (CPM)’s Venkateswara Rao; and senior journalists Gangula Gopi, Garidepalli Venkateswarlu, Dasari David, and Sambasiva Rao also spoke at the event. Union State President B. Rajasekhar; District President and Secretary Syed Khadeer and Kothapalli Srinivas Reddy; District Vice-President Duvva Sagar; TBJA District Secretary Manukonda Ravikiran; State Council members Nalabola Madhushree and Balakrishna; State Executive Committee member T.S.
