Eetaram Bharatham 01.09.2025 Khammam: Congress has laid great emphasis on development and welfare, and the decision taken by the State Cabinet to lift the 50% ceiling on Panchayat reservations imposed by the BRS government is highly commendable, said Khammam Assembly Constituency Congress leader and 24th Division Corporator Kamartharapu Murali.
He participated and spoke at a meeting held at the Khammam District Congress Party office under the chairmanship of Congress BC Cell President Pucchakayala Veerabhadram, in the presence of DCC President Puvvala Durgaprasad, Khammam Municipal Corporation Mayor Punukollu Neeraja, and others.
He said that the Cabinet’s decision to amend Section 285(A) of the Panchayati Raj Act and issue a special G.O. providing 42% reservations for BCs in local bodies is being welcomed by all sections.Murali stated that Congress is the only party prepared to go to any extent for the rights and progress of BCs. He further said that Telangana society wholeheartedly welcomes these Cabinet decisions.
